FREE START · PERSONAL CONTROL

OpenRouter access
on your terms.

Start with the public free-model connection, add a personal key for the broader OpenRouter catalog, or pause the provider so it disappears from new model choices.

TWO ACCESS MODES

A useful default without hiding the boundary.

PUBLIC FREE FALLBACK

Begin without registration.

The shared OpenRouter connection is intentionally limited to openrouter/free and explicit free model IDs. It has no paid balance and does not unlock chargeable web search.

PERSONAL API KEY

Bring your own account.

A personal key unlocks the compatible OpenRouter catalog and direct web-search controls. Remember it in this browser with AES-GCM and a non-extractable device key, keep it only in this tab, or choose the strict passphrase vault.

FULL PROVIDER CONTROL

Pause without deleting configuration.

The Models & API keys dialog shows whether every connection is enabled. Pausing OpenRouter hides its models from pickers, routes, comparisons and Council, and blocks requests until the connection is enabled again.

01

No silent paid fallback

The public key accepts free model IDs only. A personal key is explicit and always takes precedence.

02

Switch provider per chat

Move from OpenRouter to OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Groq, a custom endpoint or a local model.

03

Inspect local usage

Token and known price metadata stay in this browser, alongside visible origin and IndexedDB storage estimates.

04

Keep the conversation

The workspace remains portable even when the model connection changes or is temporarily paused.

Use the free model—or turn it off.

The provider choice remains yours.
